Guilty Consciences

I used words like “pedantic”

To demonstrate my wit.

I followed academia

To drink from wisdom’s tit.

I had A’s and opinions

And the public called me smart

All to hide my guilty secret:

I giggled at a fart.

If someone calls you a snollygoster

And you call them a doxy

Neither of you probably have friends

But you both have plenty of moxie!

The Rhyme’s The Thing

You may assume that you are right

If this verbage seems erudite,

But past the splendorous facade

The verisimilitude is not so odd.

Betwixt this linguist’s obfuscation

Surmise his true preoccupation;

To force the same phonemic core

Between line past and line before.
