Breakups Are Hard

Oh my darling, oh my darling,

Oh my darling Clementine.

You are lost and gone forever.

On second thought, that’s just fine.

Confessions of… Someone Who Isn’t Me *wink*

It seems when I awake

With the rooster’s joyful call

Then I approach the day

Knowing I can conquer all

But when I awake

With the sound of my own snoring

I can leave the conquering to you.

I like my life more boring.

I’m An Optimist. A Facebook Test Told Me

Sometimes in our sweet world

Hell freezes over

And you find no joy in puppies

And no luck in a four-leaf clover.

But other times our sweet world

Goes to the regular fiery Hell

And we shed our layers and get a tan

And enjoy it pretty well.

So if you’re doomed to misery

Throughout all your days

You may as well enjoy it

And smile anyways.
And if not you can leave a sarcastic comment for a preachy poet. 🙂

One Quiet Night

Some days you don’t have the blues.

Some days you don’t watch the news.

On days like these, at least for me,

It’s tough to write a travesty.

The Simple Life

Steve the fish lived in a dish

(A bowl, to be precise).

He shared his private windowsill

With two ex-lab mice.
When the mice stopped eating cheese,

Steve was not perturbed.

When they sprouted fangs and wings

He still was not disturbed.
And when the ex-lab mice escaped

To terrorize the Earth

Steve swam in circles happily

And reminisced about his birth.
And when the Earth went up in flames

And did finally dissappear,

Steve the fish was satisfied

With his one long, happy year.

Not Feeling It

There were ducks in the lake,
Mosquitos in the sky,
Sun in the forecast,
And a twinkle in her eye.

She smiled at me sweetly,
So I pushed her in the lake.
Sometimes those happy people
Are just too much to take.
