Pay The Bills, Or Pay The Refs?

In this divisive political era

We all have the power to choose

If we will sit idly and watch life happen

Or to fight back and help evil lose.

That’s why I ask you to kneel and pray

For the fateful occasion tomorrow

And ask whatever divine you believe in

To cause the Chiefs justice and sorrow.

“Hey Guys! What If We Hijack The Playoffs And Pretend It’s A Cool Innovation Instead Of A Paywall? I Bet Nobody Will Cancel Their Subscription The Day After.” -Some Peacock Exec, Probably

There once was a streaming station

Who aired a playoff game to the nation.

The broadcast was bad

And no one will be sad

If the ratings show as “Devastation.”

Yeah… So Much For “Anything Can Happen”

There once were eight teams

With ambitions and dreams

Of competing for Super Bowl glory.

The boring teams won

And we didn’t have fun

And that’s today’s NFL story.

Stealing Second (and Third, and…)

The dream team took the field
Before the final playoff match,
And so the game was cancelled
Without a single catch.

Thus ended what had promised
To be a splendid day,
For if the field has been taken
Where is one supposed to play?
